TheLadders Study Shows Popularity of Middle-Management Jobs Decreases,Technology Jobs Dominate
According to the data, the growth rate of titles that contain the word “manager” is 25 percent lower than average growth rate. Similarly, the growth rate for titles containing the word “director” is 50 percent lower than average. Also, less than 2 percent of titles within the top 10 percent of growing jobs contain the word “manager” or “director.”
Shifting from management, today’s fastest-growing jobs require specific skills in the STEM areas—science, technology, engineering and mathematics. A whopping 70 percent of today’s booming jobs come from the technology industry, a jump that can be attributed to today’s current wave of technological advances like Apple and Android devices.
