TechPoint’s Innovation Summit is set to have Jody Thompson as its third keynote speaker at its conference on November 8, 2011, at the Indiana Convention Center.  Thomson has proven herself to be a leader in changing the way people experience work and how productive they are.  She is the co-creator of Results-Only Work Environment (ROWE), which is a management strategy that has proven effective when it comes to increasing workplace productivity.

Thompson’s efforts to dismiss traditional work schedules and change the way employees work has been well accepted.  She states that, “What’s important is the results are being achieved, not where or when the work is being done.”

Business Week has named her first book, Why Work Sucks and How to Fix It, “The Year’s Best Book on Work-Life Balance .”  She has also been featured on the covers of magazines such as BusinessWeek, Workforce Management magazine, HR magazine, and Hybrid Mom magazine.  Additionally, she has received publicity in the New York Times, TIME magazine, USA Today, and The Wall Street Journal. Results have already been noted by companies who are using ROWE.  Michael Reynolds, president of SpinWeb, states that, “”Since going ROWE three years ago, my company has seen tremendous, measurable gains in productivity and even better customer service.”

TechPoint’s Innovation Summit is a day-long conference that promotes the success of technology professionals and companies by bringing in successful thought leaders.  This year keynote speakers include Thomson, as well as Randi Zuckerberg, former Facebook Spokeswoman and Director of Market Development, and Michael Stelzner, author and founder of SocialMediaExaminer.  EXPO display booths highlighting the latest developments from Indiana startups and universities will also be available for viewing.

TechPoint is committed to growing the tech sector in Indiana by showcasing technology companies’ successes as well as offering support and advocating public policy.  To find out more, visit http://www.techpoint.org.
