news Everyone knows that social media has changed the face of marketing in the U.S.  The thing is that not every business has someone who can make a fluid transition from their older advertising techniques to newer trends and technologies.  Recruiters may notice that more job positions hope to hire job candidates with some social media know-how.

Social Media’s effect on the changing face of marketing has plenty of examples from different businesses, but one is definitely on the entertainment industry.

Hannah Sampson of theMiami Herald reports, “After weathering the economic freefall, attractions throughout the state are adapting to a new leisure landscape and finding ways to thrive – or just keep surviving. As summer approaches, South Florida attractions are turning to daily deal websites to drum up business, adding more interactive experiences and investing in additions to generate interest from tourists and turn locals into regulars.”

Social media seems to be enabling a push for a more thriving local economy in which residents really embrace the resources and opportunities nearby.  In this way, people are becoming more loyal to unique places.  Sampson quotes one worker who was pleased with the success gained from changing their advertising from billboards to facebook.

As these changes spread throughout the country, recruiters can expect that many job candidates they work with will be expected to be familiar with this shift in the way companies attract business.
