peoplematterTalent management solutions provider PeopleMatter, serving hourly workforces within the service sector, has released its new smartphone-driven labor management app, aptly call SCHEDULE, to do away with the paper aspect of a traditional scheduling system. SCHEDULE provides the tools to manage shifts and remain connected with a service organization’s workforce. With the app, shift managers are able to create customized schedules that may be updated and shared at any time over the Internet.

The program helps to enhance the effectiveness and accuracy of a schedule and avoid unplanned overtime through configurable rules that automatically optimizes any schedule at any time. Available on both iPhone and Android devices, the free app lets service employees access updated schedules and even trade shifts right from their phone; an especially relevant feature considering the three-fold increase in smartphone usage in 2011 (for 18  to 29 year olds) and helps companies keep pace with the evolution of mobile communication technology for savvy workforces.

Stacey Harris, Vice President of Research and Advisory Services for Brandon Hall commented on the new app stating, ““This is a game-changer for both the service industry and talent management software. Scheduling has been a push-and-pull process, but talented employees are requiring more collaborative methods. With SCHEDULE, PeopleMatter is making talent management more than lip-service — they are making it practical and relevant for today’s workforce.”

Combined with the two other integrated solutions offered by PeopleMatter, HIRE and LEARN, employers can make more efficient the entire process of recruitment, hiring, training, and scheduling. Address the new addition of SCHEDULE to her company’s arsenal, Kay Lucas, Vice President of Product Management for PeopleMatter stated, “SCHEDULE is smart, easy-to-use software that connects the entire PeopleMatter Platform,” said Kay Lucas, Vice President of Product Management for PeopleMatter. Now, admins can require new-hires to complete a training course before store managers can put them on the weekly schedule. Real-time alerts and color-coded shifts make it easy for managers to prevent overtime before it hits the bottom line.”
