Institute of Recruiters Releases First-Ever Career Map for Recruiters & HR Pros

 The job world is constantly offering advice for job seekers when it comes to the job search, landing a job, and how to succeed in their careers. Now, the Institute of Recruiters (IOR), the professional body for recruiters and HR, wants to offer similar advice—only this time it’s for recruiters.

IOR recently launched the industry’s very first career map, which shows how agency recruiters, internal recruiters and HR professionals can follow their career paths in relation to one another.

“It’s essential for business owners and their staff to get a better overview of where they sit in comparison to others within the same profession,” Azmat Mohammed, the IOR’s director general, said. “It’s also an invaluable tool to encourage people to choose recruitment as a profession and stay in it.”

The two-page guide shows:

• Detailed course and qualification information

• Salary benchmarking

• Comparison between careers in recruitment and those of internal recruiters and HR professionals

• Recruiter career guide for career mobility

“HR professionals want to work closer with recruiters who have a complete understanding of recruiting talent combined with deep sector knowledge,” Mohammed said. “To gain that recruiters have to take professional development and learning very seriously.”
