HR Pros Favor Romney
The primary reason given for selecting Romney as the presidential pick was the prospect of less government interference in employment law. Other opinions expressed by the pro-Romney constituency noted thoughts such as that the current administration’s spending and policies have created more hassles at the level of business implementation. Respondents believe Romney is more experienced in leading an economic recovery and running a business and will reduce business regulations that keep business from adding new jobs. The repeal of Obamacare was prominently cited as a reason to vote the current president out of office.
The smaller pro-Obama wing cited the Affordable Care Act as a benefit for employers and employees thanks to the new health exchanges, mandated coverage for pre-existing conditions, and the coverage of adult children. Also noted was that President Obama would continue the current laws and programs that support employees. Obama supporters believe he will create more jobs, stimulate economic growth, and incentivize employers to increase hiring.
