It is interesting to watch more and more recruiting software vendors head to the cloud. As HR and recruiting departments demand workforce and environment flexibility and scale, more mission-critical applications are moving into purely web based tools. Recruiting and HR applications are notoriously difficult to move to the cloud, as this employment data is exceptionally sensitive and confidential. More HR and recruiting professionals are comfortable with the security of this data, and are demanding innovative web applications for their core workflows and daily functions.

It is important to see recruitment technology vendors highlighted in non-industry publications and reports. It demonstrates interest, from a purely technical standpoint, in the business problems of employee referrals, candidate applications, and assessment and profiling. There has been tremendous innovation in the recruitment and HR technology space over the last few years, including hundreds of new startups and developments within existing companies. Recruiting and hiring technology promises to continue being an exciting and active industry to watch.
