Atlanta’s “Best and Brightest”
What makes a place a good place to work? Every time a friend is stuck in a woeful job, do you break out the pros and cons list? Some people get attached to their company’s relaxed dress code or their compassionate boss, but in the end it’s a lot of qualities that go into creating a work environment where most people are happy to work.
The National Association for Business Resources (NABR) tries to distinguish these qualities and honor companies that make their employees feel good. The recruitment process is highlighted as a key contribution to employees’ experiences with a company. Also important were communication, communication, and multiculturalism. Naturally, the compensation and benefits were important factors for people as well.
NABR is honoring several companies this June in Atlanta at the event “Atlanta’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” at the Marriott Atlanta Century Center. This year’s winners practice innovative strategies and represent best practices in human resources in industries as diverse as construction, staffing, IT and financial services.
Winning companies may be further recognized competing with other companies of their same size. Among the companies recognized are Quality Wine & Spirits, Inc., Skanska USA, ThoughtWorks, Inc., and WellStar Health System Inc.
“As the first year of our organization recognizing the best and brightest companies in Atlanta, we are very impressed with what this year’s winning companies have accomplished. The honorees have clearly demonstrated why each of them would be an ideal place for employees to work. Companies that know how to attract and retain top talent capitalize on their greatest resource—their employees,” said Jennifer Kluge, president of NABR.
Atlanta is not the only city that the National Association for Business Resources works with. Getting ready for the 2012 season, NABR is now accepting nominations for companies in Atlanta, Metro Detroit, Chicago and West Michigan.
